October 25, 2010 : National Special Non-Working Holiday

The following is taken from the proclamation of October 25, 2010 as National Special Non-Working Holiday for the National Barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections 2010.

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES
PROCLAMATION NO. 48

DECLARING MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2010 AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY


WHEREAS, the Barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan Elections will be held on MOnday, October 25, 2010;

WHEREAS, it is imperative that the people be given the fullest opportunity to participate in the said elections and exercise their right to vote;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the PHilippines, by virtue of the powers vested in my by law, do hereby declare October 25, 2010, MOnday, as a special (non-working) holiday throughout the country.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 6th day of October, in the year of OUr Lord, Two THousand and Ten.
